Lake Pichola is an artificial fresh water lake, located south of Udaipur. It was established in 1362 near the Picholi village that gave it its name. Two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir located on the lake are now processed several luxury hotels palace
The Jag Niwas is a summer palace built by Udai Singh II in the middle of an artificial lake: Lake Pichola. The palace became the famous Lake Palace Hotel world class found in the James Bond Octopussy.
